Child Protection & Safeguarding

Safeguarding our pupils at school is the responsibility of everybody. It is a responsibility that we all take seriously. That is why everybody working at Saddleworth School has regular training and understands that they have a duty to safeguard, promote pupils' welfare and pass on as appropriate any concerns with regard to possible harm, abuse or neglect to external agencies such as Social Care and the Police. This duty is placed upon school by Section 175 of the Education Act 2002. To lead on this, we have a Designated Senior Person for Child Protection (DSP). Mr Anderson, is our DSP, supported by other trained members of the Pastoral Team, such as Mrs Leach Ravey, who should be contacted if there is a concern.
