Eclipse Viewing at Saddleworth School

Saddleworth School pupils and science staff celebrated the end of British Science Week by taking the opportunity to view the spectacular solar eclipse.

Pupils built their own eclipse viewing apparatus to allow the event to be watched safely. Several different viewers were also demonstrated on the day. Year 11 pupil Oliver Cooper also managed to take some spectacular photographs on an SLR camera, with the lens being filtered through a sheet of welder's glass.
